Thanksgiving, dammit!!

Alright kids, wretched holiday-time. The only thing saving it this time is I'm going to NC to celebrate the holidays with some old Army buddies instead of family. Oh saving grace! I don't think I can take family holidays anymore. It gets too damn stuffy. I don't feel like putting on a show for no purpose. I don't know how other people feel, but I think its a trend. So kick back, take a tequila shot, and eat a fucking steak instead of turkey. Just don't hold the mashed taters and the gravy.....Man can't live on steak alone.....dammit. Oh, and did I mention NC is just about stormed in?! Just did. So enjoy this weekend, watch some football, and be thankful that you live in these beautiful United States.

Here is the first in a group of pictures I took when I was visiting the Modern Museum of Art in Ft. Worth. Definitely worth the $12 entrance fee, spent all day with my digital camera (Canon PS S330) taking some fun shots. Hope you enjoy.

A nice and warm feeling from this one.

A little close-up of the cement. Saw a great special on PBS about the making of the Modern in Ft. Worth. There was something about the slabs used to make the concrete walls being specially made. Go explore.

"Hey, don't I know you?"

View of the cafeteria.

Music blogging

Just bought a new cd, band called Vetiver. Nick Drake-ish, but with more strings and less suicide. I have been digging on this cd for the last 24hrs, and I love it. I foresee heavy rotation in the near future. Since I suck at html you can find more here

"Free Williamsburg, what the sh*t!?" you might say, but just grin and bear it.....Death by hipster avalanche.

With an even cooler garage!

A cool house...

Blue house.

Some more porches.

A nice porch.

Fire station no. 4. I wonder if that's engine no.9?

Clarksville livin'.

Is there such a thing as a pink haunted house..? With a crappy yard..? And check out the "cool" donuts! Expression comes in many forms, one of which takes off road tires and a yard.

A cool gate.

"Hello. I just wanted to tell you your mailbox is rusting. And there is another yellow house down the street. Ok, talk to you later."

Same wall, and behind the wall? Yet another yellow house! I think I might have been on Fascination St...

A cool gardenwall.

A cool house in the Clarksville neighborhood of Austin. I dig the treebranches and the yellow.

Photoblogging about everything else but Austin

Since I've posted so much about scubadiving in Florida, its about time I keep it real and post some pics from the great city of Austin.

Keeping it real at a hundred feet with my buddy Poncho.

Scuba diving in Key Largo

This year was pretty good. One of the things I got to do was reconnect with some Army buddies during a scuba diving trip. Scuba diving is something I have always wanted to do, and having only had a little taste of it as a youngun I was really excited to get certified this year. Admittedly, scuba diving in landlocked Austin is...well, pretty limited. Anyways, after getting certified in February, I got together with said buddies and we headed down to Key Largo for a long weekend of diving. It was fantastic! I had a great time. We went down as far as 130ft, something which kind of freaked me out, but hey. We did some good wreck diving, dove some reefs, and generally lived it up for a couple of glorious days in the great state of Florida. I'm definitely looking forward to expanding my diving horizons next year, maybe head to the Caribbean, money permitting...?

Hail and hello

First blogpost, definitely excited about putting some words out there. Played around a little bit on myspace, but this feels more concrete. I wonder if anybody else out there feels the same way as I do, the idea of wanting to express yourself but feeling as if you have nothing to say. I always thought I enjoyed writing, but I could never find anything that I really wanted to talk about. But now I have been reading other people's blogs for a while, and blogs are interesting things. And so ends the first post......
