Just got a new CD

Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and I have to say I really like it. Of course seeing them live was greater, and I have to say my newfound interest in Wilco is paying dividends.

Do you ever feel like you wish you discovered a great piece of music sooner in life, as if you think you would be a better person if you knew the music at an earlier age?

I bet the Colonel would have some choice words on that.

Been a while

Since I blogged. Wakarusa, with Kevin and Melanie and an assorted bunch of almost-there hippies, was a blast. Saw some great bands (String Cheese show being one of the favorites), and felt generally good about being a camping-bum for an extended weekend.

Looking forward to ACL in September, but after that I think I'm a bit festival'd out.

Check out the Colonel...

He has some new posts. The interview with Kasabian is solid comedic gold.

Michael Yon in Iraq

I've been reading Michael Yon's blog to get a different angle of what's happening in Iraq. Go check it out.

Andy, We will miss you....

My good friend Andrea came up this weekend to hang out before she heads to Hawaii to live it up (before a possible stint in an Australian ivory tower).

Good times were had by all as I got to hang out with not just Andrea, but her good friend Diana R. and one of her law-school acquaintances (all beauties).

Saturday we hit up Z Tejas on 6th and Lamar for dinner, which was made even better by the beautiful weather.

After dinner we headed over to Zilker Park for a free ballet-exhibition (and some much-needed blanket-snoozing), and from there we ended up at the always-great courtyard of The Hotel San Jose. They serve great micheladas, and we had some.

After the San Jose we all went home. Content.

Sunday morning we met up for brunch at Chez Zee. First time I have ever been there, and it was damn good. A little overpriced compared to Starseeds and Omelettry, but damn good.

After that Andy and I headed back to my place and watched some Trailer Park Boys (those canucks sure know how to make funny), and then Andy took off back to Houston.

She will be missed.
