Austin Hot-Sauce festival

Some music blogging

I've been listening to the band Vetiver for a while, and just today I happened across their webpage. Vetiver also features Joanna Newsom on harp, and you can check out her new album The Milk-Eyed Mender here. I bought it yesterday, and it is great.

Also, after the Wilco show in Houston I've been checking out a lot of Wilco releases before "A Ghost is Born", and yesterday I happened across an Uncle Tupelo retrospective, and its a pretty cool album.

Good times.

"Gates of Fire" from Michael Yon

If you want to see the impact of blog-journalism in Iraq, read Michael Yon's "Gates of Fire".

The pictures are insane, and Michael Yon again takes readers to the edge of photojournalism, being in direct contact with insurgents in Mosul.

An absolutely awe-inspiring, riveting read.
